PBA Fans still can't heave a sigh of relief after PBA commissioner Willie Marcial confirmedthat the sale of Terrafirma's franchise to a consortium led by Starhorse Shipping Lines has fallen through. The only glimmer of hope remaining is that the league is talking to three other interested buyers.
Two of them have not only sent Letters of Intent but have also paid the league’s office in Libis, Quezon City a visit to talk to no less than the Commissioner, stating how serious they are in their attempt to join.
Marcial said the sale of the Dyip franchise, first announced in February, was never consummated since Starhorse officials failed to comply with certain requirements set by the league, mostly on the financial aspect of the deal.
Some requirements were also unmet in the separate negotiations between Starhorse and Terrafirma, whose group is led by team governor Bobby Rosales.
"Hindi nakapag-comply si Starhorse doon sa ibang mga requirements natin," lamented Marcial. "Lalo roon sa financial side nung deal."
