Bolts 103, KaTropa 100

Meralco rose through a tough adversity, beating out TNT KaTropa in an overtime grind, 103-100, to force a do-or-die face-off in their PBA Commissioner’s Cup best-of-three quarterfinals duel at the Smart Araneta Coliseum last 7 June.

Baser Amer erupted for a career-high 32 points while Kelly Nabong came through with nine of his 15 in the extension play as the Bolts survived a long scoreless spell in the fourth quarter and the exit on fouls by import Alex Stepheson with 1:54 left in regulations.

Bolts 82, KaTropa 104

TNT KaTropa import Joshua Smith was suffering from a bum stomach, but would not let his teammates do all the work.

"I wasn't a hundred percent today, but I wasn't going to let my teammates go out there by themselves," said Smith. "I wanted to help them out."

Bolts 90, Star Hotshots 108

Ricardo Ratliffe turned to a cakewalk his expected colossal battle with Alex Stepheson as the Star Hotshots dismantled the Meralco Bolts, 108-90, to inch closer to a Top Two finish in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup eliminations at the Smart Araneta Coliseum last 24 May.

Ratliffe outclassed Stepheson and the Hotshots made decisive runs in the second and fourth quarters en route to grabbing the solo lead with a 8-2 win-loss card.

Bolts 86, Globalport 94

It seems GlobalPort has made the right decisions after all, at least after an initial test.

New replacement import Justin Harper and the other Batang Pier newcomers made immediate impact, resulting in a 94-86 shocker over Meralco last 10 May in the PBA Commissioner's Cup at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Bolts 81, Phoenix 66

Meralco kept its tenacity and sharpness from a long, dull 16-day break, spilling Phoenix Petroleum, 81-66, to formally secure a playoff entry in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum last 3 May 2017.

Not surprisingly, Baser Amer, fresh from a first-ever All-Star appearance, stood out as the Bolts stretched their streak to three games and jacked up their overall record to 7-1.

Bolts 102, Blackwater 91

Alex Stepheson was already doing his part of the defensive job for Meralco.

Then Kelly Nabong stood out the most on the other end of the floor and the Bolts collectively took the cue to run away with a 102-91 victory over Blackwater last 15 April in the PBA Commissioner's Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Bolts 99, Aces 91

Meralco sprang back strong from its loss to San Miguel Beer the last time and ended Alaska Milk’s perfect run in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup with a dominant 99-91 win in their showdown at the MOA Arena in Pasay City last 8 April.

The Bolts scrapped and gutted it out with their fellow defense-oriented rivals, dealing the Aces the setback that left the Star Hotshots (4-0) and the San Miguel Beermen as the two remaining unbeaten teams in the mid-season tourney.

Bolts 92, Beermen 99

Meralco Bolts are still cursed. This was obvious when Philippine Cup champ San Miguel Beer stopped their hot rampage, 99-92, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum last 2 April.

It took a while for the Beermen to get going. But when they did, there’s no stopping them from keeping their mastery of the team they haven’t lost a game since their 2015 Governors Cup do-or-die matchup.

Bolts 89, Elastopainters 83

Alex Stepheson as usual delivered his regular double-double game, but it was Baser Amer's sterling all-around performance that helped carry the Meralco Bolts to its fourth straight win. The team fought with a lockdown defense to keep its unbeaten run in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup with an 89-83 dumping of Rain or Shine last 18 March at the MOA Arena.

Stepheson came up with 21 points and 15 rebounds while Amer delivered 17 markers and 11 boards in a rare double-double game as the Bolts sustained their hot start in the mid-season tourney, seizing the solo lead.

Bolts 94, KaTropa 89

Defense has always been the key for the Meralco Bolts and for the third straight game, they held their opponent below 90 points and came through with the win.

The defense-oriented Bolts imposed their game on TNT and import Louis Amundson, carving out a third consecutive victory with a 94-89 drubbing of the KaTropa in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum last 24 March.

Bolts 91, NLEX 84

Meralco unleashed a killer fourth quarter to beat NLEX, 91-84, last 19 March to nab its second victory in the 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Bolts used a 19-4 tear to break the game open in the fourth, turning a slim 69-67 lead to a commanding 88-71 advantage with 5:25 left as the Road Warriors fired blanks late.

Bolts 94, Mahindra 86

Meralco Bolts has always known that the only missing piece in their team is a formidable rim-protector. They proved this by drubbing Mahindra, 94-86, for a rousing debut in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup that got going last 17 March at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Alex Stepheson was a solid presence in the middle for the Bolts, who went full throttle from the second quarter onwards following a slow start.
