Meralco's resilience was tested and it passed with flying colors.

Petron Blaze tried to show the same, but Lady Luck preferred to frown on it.

As a result, the Bolts fashioned a 95-81 victory over the Boosters Sunday (11 November 2012) to move closer to a coveted slot in the PBA Philippine Cup at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

This time, Mac Cardona made sure their won’t be a meltdown against Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.

Grounded previously in their out-of-town game last season, Mac Cardona played a steady game on Saturday in Digos, Davao del Sur, scoring 21 points while his backcourt mate Sol Mercado produced 19 as the Meralco Bolts jolted the Gin Kings, 95-88, on Saturday (13 October 2012).

Bolts 93, Aces 86

Cliff Hodge
A new face is emerging as Meralco's poster boy and his name is Cliff Hodge.

The energetic rookie proved this by coming up with his first pro career double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds and leading the Bolts to a 93-86 win over Alaska Wednesday (10 October 2012) in the PBA Philippine Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Hodge, just a shade under 6-foot-4, battled, scraped and clawed his way against some of the Aces' taller and more experienced players. He often found himself sprawled on the floor, but he did enough damage.

Bolts 112, Texters 110

Ronjay Buenafe
If Norman Black was watching the game from afar, he would have probably fidgeted, gulped and choked as Talk 'N Text threw away a 24-point lead, flirted with disaster and went through five more minutes before edging Meralco in overtime, 112-110, Friday night (5 October 2012) in the 2012-13 PBA Philippine Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Jared Dillinger and Jason Castro recovered their form in the extra period and rifled in triples while the Bolts choked from the free throw line with Solomon Mercado and rookie Cliff Hodge muffing two charities each.
