Bolts 91, SMART 87

Bolts vs SMART
Out of the playoff picture, Meralco salvaged some measure of pride and respect in repulsing Smart Gilas in its farewell game in the PBA Commissioner's Cup.

The Bolts battled like they’re fighting for the championship, upending the Nationals, 91-87, in overtime in the last leg of the Phoenix Fuel PBA on Tour at the Tacloban Convention Center on 2 April 2011.

Champ Oguchi poured in 10 of his 21 points in the extra period leading the Bolts to the win that gave them a closing 3-6 win-loss record in the mid-season tourney.

Bolts 101, Air21 110

Bolts vs Air21
Behind a mighty windup, Air21 topped Meralco, 110-101, Wednesday (30 March 2011) to catch up with Rain or Shine at sixth place with four play dates left in the PBA Commissioner's Cup elimination phase.

The Express broke away at the finish and scored their first back-to-back wins that boosted their chance to make the playoffs.

The Bolts practically kissed their own playoff hopes goodbye with a sixth loss against only two wins.

Bolts 101, Aces 104

The Alaska Aces lost import LD Williams barely four minutes into the game and they looked defeated with three minutes remaining in regulation, trailing Meralco by 11 points.

Then the unexpected happened.

L.A. Tenorio warmed up in the second half and came away with a career-high 33 points, including two clutch 3-point shot in the closing seconds of regulation as the Aces stunned the Meralco Bolts, 104-101 in overtime on 25 March 2011 at the Araneta Coliseum.

Bolts 111, Powerade 85

Bolts vs Powerade
Macmac Cardona and Sol Mercado are now playing together as teammates – a big reason why Meralco is up and about.

Cardona and Mercado shared the ball and had huge contribution together as Meralco made it two in a row with a 111-85 rout of Powerade in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Araneta Coliseum Wednesday (25 March 2011) night.

After a come-from-behind 89-86 win over B-MEG Derby Ace Friday, Meralco returned to blast Powerade, speaking well of the Bolts' determination to land a spot in the playoffs.

Meralco's Champ Oguchi
Meralco nailed its first win in the PBA Commissioner's Cup in style Friday (18 March 2011), topping B-MEG Derby Ace, 89-86, with a stirring come-from-behind effort.

Champ Oguchi banged away four of his seven triples in the homestretch, keying the Bolts' searing rally from 10 points down in the last four minutes of play.

Oguchi stunned just about everybody at the Cuneta Astrodome when he buried his final trey, pushing the Bolts ahead at 87-86 with time down to 26 seconds.

Talk 'N Text head coach Chot Reyes considered their grind out game against Meralco a great learning experience.

Paul Harris scored 13 of his 32 points in the third quarter and the Tropang Texters held off a fiery charge by the Meralco Bolts down the stretch for a 109-106 victory Friday (11 March 2011) in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.

Bolts 89, Beermen 90

Ira Brown scored on a tip-in as time expired, enabling San Miguel Beer to escape with 90-89 decision against the Meralco Bolts Friday (4 March 2011) in the PBA Commissioner's Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.

But the 28-year old improve won't have time to celebrate his heroics.

SMB head coach Ato Agustin revealed during the post-game interview that team manager Hec Calma was to talk to Brown later to inform him that he would be replaced.

Bolts 92, Painters 101

Bolts vs Painters
There was little Rain or Shine coach Yeng Guiao did wrong Sunday (27 February 2011), especially in looking for a substitution. Every one he pointed at came in and promptly delivered.

The result was a 101-92 win over Meralco that gave the Elasto Painters the temporary solo lead in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Cuneta Astrodome.

Bolts 98, Ginebra 115

Meralco's First Game
Nate Brumfield may not be as flashy as other imports could turn out, but he sure can get the job done for Barangay Ginebra.

Drawing inspiration from their workhorse of an import, the Kings gave the Meralco Bolts a 115-98 beating Friday (18 February 2011) at the start of the PBA Commissioner's Cup at the jampacked Ilocos Norte Centennial Arena.
