Bolts 81, Powerade 86

Bolts vs Powerade
The Powerade Tigers found a reason to celebrate even if they didn't make the playoffs.

On Celino Cruz's heroics, the Tigers brought down the curtains on their season and finished their campaign in the PBA Governors' Cup with an 86-81 victory against the Meralco Bolts on Wednesday (20 July 2011) at the Araneta Coliseum.

Cruz scored only five points but his 3-point shot – his only basket in the fourth quarter – with 32 seconds remaining shoved Powerade ahead for good after Meralco tied the game at 81-81 on a steal and a lay-up by Sol Mercado with 45 seconds to play.

Bolts 91, Texters 93

Bolts vs Texters
In a game that turned to a virtual all-Filipino duel, Jayson Castro rose up at the finish, completing a Talk n Text come-from-behind win over Meralco that sealed the Tropang Texters' entry into the PBA Governors Cup semifinals Wednesday night (13 July 2011) at the Cuneta Astrodome.

Castro struggled most of the way but knocked in his shots when it counted the most as the Tropang Texters rallied past the Bolts, 93-91, into the semifinals of the season-ending tourney.

Bolts 113, Painters 116

Bolts vs Painters
Coach Yeng Guiao aptly summed it in saying: "There won't be too many games like this."

Guiao's Rain or Shine Elasto Painters had a roller-coaster ride that saw them blow away a 20-point third-quarter bulge, rally from a six-point deficit in the last 15 seconds of regulation play and outlast the Meralco Bolts in overtime.

The Elasto Painters came out of the classic match triumphant, 116-113, and tied the erstwhile leaders Talk n Text Tropang Texters at second place in the PBA Governors Cup at the Araneta Coliseum on 9 July 2011.

Bolts 93, Air21 86

Bolts vs Air21
Meralco was about to put Air21 out of its misery, but it took a lot of doing going about it.

The Bolts managed to fashion out a 93-86 Wednesday but only after going through some rough and anxious moments in the PBA Governors’ Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.

New import Tim Pickett debuted with 32 points and 11 rebounds and Meralco totally dominated the boards, but it was Sol Mercado taking charge at the finish that enabled the Bolts to completely hurdle Air21's challenge.

Bolts 92, BMeg 104

Bolts vs BMeg
Whether it’s his true worth or not, Stefhon Hannah showed it a little late.

Hannah found a good rhythm in the second half, piling up 23 points to help B-Meg to a 104-92 win over Meralco in the PBA Governors Cup at The Arena in San Juan Sunday night.

It could well be his farewell game in a short stint in the local pro league since the team's import replacement prospect in Darnell Hinson was to fly in later in the night.

Bolts 81, Kings 97

Bolts vs Kings
Behind a strong start and a stronger finish, Barangay Ginebra stopped Meralco on its tracks in the PBA Governors Cup at the Araneta Coliseum Friday night (24 June 2011).

The Kings outplayed the Bolts in the opening quarter and at the finish for a 97-81 rout and a piece of third place after their first three games in the season-ending tourney.

After two near triple-double games, Curtis Stinson finally completed one with 18 points, 16 assists and 13 rebounds as the Kings bounced back from a loss to the Petron Boosters the last time out and, in the process, caught up with the Bolts at 2-1.

Bolts 81, Aces 78

Bolts vs Aces
Mark Isip came through with a clutch play at the finish in his return from a 28-point game, and Meralco went to a 2-0 roll in the PBA Governors’ Cup with an 81-78 nipping of Alaska Milk in a road game here Saturday night (18 June 2011).

After Champ Oguchi missed what could have been an insurance three-pointer, Isip collared the offensive rebound and knocked in a charity for the cushion carrying the Bolts to the win just the same.

Bolts 105, Boosters 100

Champ Oguchi
Champ Oguchi was expected to deliver the goods. But when Mark Isip joins the fray, Meralco sure is hard to beat.

The Bolts poured on the heat in the first three quarters before relying on Isip most during the stretch in holding off the Petron Blaze Boosters for a 105-100 win Sunday (12 June 2011) in the 2011 PBA Governors' Cup at the Cuneta Astrodome.

Isip nearly matched his career-high by coming off the bench for 28 points while Oguchi notched 26 points and 10 rebounds as Meralco won a conference-opener for the first time in three tries despite the absence of a couple of key players.

Bolts' 2011 Governor's Cup Schedule

Bolts vs Petron
The Meralco Bolts will start their Third Conference campaign against Petro Blaze Boosters on the second day of the PBA Governor’s Cup on 12 June 2011.

The PBA Third Conference will still be an import-reinforced conference with the Bolts parading again Champ Oguchi. Oguchi averaged about 30 points before and made 5 3-point shots per game during his short stint with the team a few months ago.
