Bolts 87, Elastopainters 97

Rain or Shine pulled its act together in the stretches that mattered most, resulting in a 97-87 victory over Meralco last 16 December that moved it closer to an outright semifinals berth in the Smart Bro-PBA Philippine Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Chan scored 17 of his 24 points in the second half, not only stoking the Elasto Painters’ drive from a 10-point deficit but also fueling their decisive charge in the stretch. All the while, Almazan was hauling down the rebounds, defending and even scoring to end up with 21 points and 17 boards.

Bolts 104, GlobalPort 108

For a fleeting moment it seemed Meralco’s gallant efforts would finally be rewarded.

A bunch of equally gritty GlobalPort players foiled those expectations, combining to pull off a 108-104 victory last 9 December to eliminate the Bolts while moving closer to their immediate target in the Smart Bro-PBA Philippine Cup at Cuneta Astrodome.

Bolts 86, Aces 88

Alaska had to go through the wringer to beat Meralco, 88-86, to regain a share of the top spot in the 2016 Smart Bro PBA Philippine Cup last 3 December at Mall of Asia Arena.

RJ Jazul made the go-ahead 3-pointer, 84-81, after dusting off Jimmy Alapag with a fake with 31.7 seconds left before the Aces preserved their seventh win in eight games by making four out of six free throws.

Bolts 87, Hotshots 79

Gary David frolicked with 11 of his 26 points in the last eight minutes of the game and the Meralco Bolts finally got away with a first win in the Smart Bro PBA Philippine Cup with an 87-83 decision over the Star Hotshots last 21 November at Cuneta Astrodome.

David strung up those 11 markers from a 76-all deadlock, allowing Meralco to open an 87-79 gap before eventually notching a breakthrough triumph after five straight losses.

Bolts 106, Barako 108

Barako Bull withstood a 40-point explosion from Gary David to keep Meralco winless, 108-106, in the 2016 Smart Bro PBA Philippine Cup last 15 November 2015 at Philsports Arena in Pasig.

Josh Urbiztondo scored 24 points and had three steals to help the Energy win their second game in four outings.

Bolts 91, Tropang Texters 105

Talk ‘N Text was merciless against sister team Meralco as it crushed the Bolts, 105-91, in the PBA Philippine Cup at the Philsports Arena last 11 November.

Matt Ganuelas, Moala Tautuaa and Troy Rosario led the Texters’ balanced attack against the Bolts for the team’s first back-to-back victories this season. Ganuelas had 19 points, while Tautuaa and Rosario tallied 18 and 14 markers.

Bolts 85, Beermen 101

Beermen
San Miguel Beer withstood a tough challenge from Meralco to win, 101-85, and improve to 2-0 in the 2015-2016 Smart Bro-PBA Philippine Cup Wednesday night at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Five Beermen hit double digits in scoring with starting guard Alex Cabagnot leading the way with 18 points. Reigning MVP June Mar Fajardo posted a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Earlier, the San Miguel players received their championship rings in a ceremony before tip off.
