After the Meralco Bolts sent the Talk 'N Text KaTropa to an early vacation, rumor has it that Jayson Castro might be looking for a way out and entertain thought of playing in China.
Castro, chosen as FIBA's best point guard in Asia, has admitted that he is in touch with a team in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA).
"I'm still communicating pero iyung proposal talaga about sa contract, wala pa," Castro told ABS-CBN Sports shortly after he was named Best Player of the Conference last 9 October.
"Kasi alam din nila sa season pa dito," he added.
Castro, however, clarified that he is not actively pursuing a playing stint in China since the Texters fell out of the PBA Governors’ Cup race.
The Blur is keen on leading the TNT KaTropa to a PBA title in the coming PBA season.
"Nandoon pero hindi namin pinu-push talaga," Castro said. "Kasi syempre yung nangyari sa amin dito sa conference na ito, parang iyung [TNT] management siyempre gustong makarating ulit sa finals."
When asked if he is looking at the CBA as a possible springboard to his NBA dreams, he said: "Hindi ko na iniisip yung NBA or ano, basta ako gusto ko every conference nai-improve ako as a basketball player. Para sa akin naman, kung darating, darating."
