The 27th FIBA Asia Championship has just concluded. We lost to Iran in the Finals, but we qualify for the 2014 World Basketball Championship in Spain.
Everyone is excited. From players, coaching staff, management personnel and fans, everyone gave their best effort to bring the country back to its basketball glory. Everyone deserves a long rest and the much needed vacation, except for one coaching staff.
Meralco Bolts coach Ryan Gregorio may have to dig deep in his roster and go back to the drawing boards after the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) disqualified the team’s import, DJ Kennedy, for standing way above the limit. With new players Nonoy Baclao and John Wilson joining the team only last month, the Bolts will have to work double time to ease the transition and promote greater team chemistry when they see action for the first time in the 2013 PBA Governor’s Cup on 16 August 2013.
