The Meralco Bolts will have to find another reinforcement for the Governors' Cup after import prospect DJ Kennedy measured a shade over the height limit.
The season-ending tournament of the PBA imposes a limit of 6-foot-5 for imports. Kennedy was measured at one-fourth of an inch over the limit.
Meralco coaching consultant Jong Uichico said the team will still be looking for a replacement for its campaign, which starts on Friday (16 August 2013) against Petron.
It's a repeat of similar incidents that happened last year, when Bolts prospects Devin Green and Juan Pattillo both measured taller than 6-foot-5, disqualifying them from suiting up for Meralco.
Last season, the Bolts bannered Champ Oguchi and Mario West for the Governors' Cup. According to Uichico, West remains a backup option for the Bolts.
