If plans pushes through today, 1 October 2025, the PBA will officially welcome a new team in Pureblends Corp as it formally takes over the Northport franchise in time for the league’s 50th anniversary season.

Although no official statement has yet been made by the league on the acquisition of the Batang Pier team locked, stocked, and barrel, persons privy to the negotiations has alfeady told reporters of Spin.ph that the deal is already a go.

Pureblends team owner Byrann Calantoc and its appointed team governor are actually gracing the formal presser of the PBA for its golden season on Wednesday at Shangri-La Hotel.

The new team will reportedly carry the brand name Titan Maxx, a known dietary supplement, which was confirmed later on after veteran Calvin Abueva posted the team’s playing jersey on his Instagram account.

Sought for confirmation, Commissioner Willie Marcial said all questions will be answered during the scheduled presser.

But all signs point to a Pureblends acquisition of Northport, with a new coach in Johnedel Cardel already the one conducting the daily team practices.

Cardel, the former Terrafirma mentor, has tapped Raymond Valenzona as his deputy along with Rensy Bajar, the only remnant from the previous Northport coaching staff under Bonnie Tan.

Adrianne Anglim also came in as team manager and was actually the one who handled the signing of players’ contracts.

Retained by Pureblends from the last NorthPort roster are Abueva, Joshua Munzon, Fran Yu, Jerrick Balanza, Damie Cuntapay, and James Kwekuteye, while adding new acquisitions Von Pessumal, Jeo Ambohot, and rookies Chris Koon and Mario Barasi.
