Almost Half Of The 2025 PBA Draftees Are Now Free Agents

Unsigned Draftees
Once the smoke cleared, it has become obvious that the last PBA Draft was really shallow. Out of the 77 players selected, only 41 have either signed contracts or received formal offers from their respective teams.

The remaining 36 draftees were not extended tender offers during the one-week signing window, making them unrestricted free agents. The highest pick among these left unsigned was 13th overall selection Mario Barasi, chosen by Barangay Ginebra.

Other notable names who were not offered contracts include Rain or Shine’s 34th overall pick Cole Micek, TNT’s 35th overall pick Sean Quitevis and 46th overall pick Joe Celzo, as well as Blackwater’s 57th overall pick Gjerard Wilson.

Rain or Shine also released MJ Dela Virgen and Kyle Tolentino to free agency.

Terrafirma declined to sign Dolan Adlawan, Claude Camit, Franz Diaz, JM Manalang, Tristan Medina, and Edrian Ramirez.

NorthPort also passed on Kint Ariar, Jonathan Gesalem, Robi Nayve, Kobe Bryant Pableo, Tricky Peromingan, Kenny Rogers Rocacurva, and Jonas Tibayan.

Blackwater, aside from Wilson, opted not to sign Jude Codinera and Dominic Cauilan.

Meanwhile, Converge’s draftees JP Cauilan, Patrick Ramos, Geremy Robinson, Jordan Sta. Ana, and Niel Tolentino; Phoenix’s Harvey Pagsanjan, Kris Gurtiza, and Aldave Canoy; NLEX’s Benedict Benedictos, Judel Fuentes, John Galinato, and AJ Madrigal; as well as Magnolia’s Joshua Yerro were all left unsigned and are now free agents.

There are no words yet from the Meralco Bolts, but chances are their first pick, Jason Brickman, will be signed soon, while the rest may have to compete with the others available in the free agency for positions.
