We all know that Anjo Caram is a major contributor in the success of the Meralco Bolts. He also doesn't mind if his performance is underestimated by opponents as long as he gets to go back home safe to take care of his wife and two children.
The 33-year-old Ilonggo player knows how important his family is and he wants to keep it that way.
"As a father, mahirap din talaga 'yung ganitong work. Pagod ka pag-uwi, pero it's never an excuse. I always make sure I spend time with them, hands-on talaga ako sa kanila," Caram shared with SPIN.ph in an interview early this year.
With the Bolts doing much more extra work after they clinched their first-ever PBA title (2024 All-Filipino Champions) in their fourth try in the finals at the expense of San Miguel Beermen, the former San Beda stalwart said that he always does his best to still make the most out of his children's growing up years.
"Isa sa sacrifices talaga 'yung pag-uwi, dapat may energy ka pa rin kasi hinintay ka nila eh, they want to play with you. Yun yung challenge, pero ine-enjoy ko 'yung moments na 'to kasi alam ko, mabilis lang sila lumaki," he explained.
As such, being a father - by far - is the most rewarding experience for him, even going further by stating that he found his life's purpose when he and his wife decided to have kids.
"Sobrang sarap sa feeling na maging tatay, nagiging inspirasyon mo mga anak mo para maglaro at magpursigi pa sa buhay," he said.
The 5-foot-7 guard and all of Meralco played Game 6 against San Miguel on a Father's Day at the Smart Araneta Coliseum last June
