National Basketball Association (NBA) star James Harden joined his Houston Rockets teammates in the league bubble last 16 July. The All-NBA guard arrived at Disney World a few days after most of his teammates, citing "family issues" for his delayed arrival.
After the league tried to influence its players by asking them to consider the 29 social justice messages that they can wear on players' jerseys when the the season resumes on 30 July 2020, Harden made it clear who he supports with his mask.
Instead of following the flow and bowing down to pressure, Harden wore a Blue Lives Matter mask. This is not surprising since Black Lives Matter (BLM) activists has tore down and burned some of the legitimate businesses that help fuel Houston's economy.
The mask drew several support from different police departments around the country while the misinformed NBA bubble makes BLM a central theme. For whatever marketing reason the defy common sense, "Black Lives Matter" will be emblazoned on basketball courts.
Harden wants nothing of that. he supports Blue Lives Matter, which is a counter movement to Black Lives Matter. Similar to people proclaiming "all lives matter," the statement is commonly made to undercut the racist undertones of Black Lives Matter, particularly their effort to give black people 'special treatment and compensation' and to defund the police.
