A radio DZMM report said that the daughter of PBA legend Nelson Asaytono is facing criminal charges after driving her AUV into a row of establishments in Sta. Mesa, Manila, killing one person and injuring 12 others.
Kim Arielle Catahan Asaytono, 22, is facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and multiple physical injuries and damage to property. Asaytono is currently incarcerated at Manila Police District headquarters.
An earlier report from ABS-CBN said Asaytono was driving her AUV when she suddenly swerved and drove straight into an off-track betting station, barber shop, two tricycles and a vendo machine at the corner of Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard and Altura Street on 19 May.
One person, Oscar Lastimado, was killed in the incident while 12 others sustained various injuries.
Initial reports said Asaytono did not have her driver's license with her during the accident. Police said Asaytono had also been drinking.
Some of the victims, meanwhile, did not press charges but have settled the matter with the Asaytono family.
