The schedule of games for the upcoming PBA 2013-14 Philippine Cup has just been released with a new first. The 39th season of the local professional league will be opening simultaneously in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, on 17 November 2013.
After a successful rookie draft that saw a total of 44 potential rookies selected, the season will start the the opening ceremonies at 2:00 P.M. in all three venues. The ceremonies will be followed by three games with Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and the San Mig Coffee Mixers facing each other at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, 3:00 P.M. The same time that the Meralco Bolts will go up against the Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters at the Cebu Coliseum. The 5:15 P.M. will feature the Alaska Aces against the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters at USEP, Davao City.
The league will then resume its Wednesday-Friday-Saturday-Sunday schedule, at their normal game venues, namely the Smart Araneta Coliseum, the Cuneta Astrodome, and the Mall of Asia Arena.
There is also just one more out-of-town game on the list, a 14 December clash between the Meralco Bolts and the Petron Blaze Boosters in Dipolog City.
