The Meralco Bolts has secured their frontline depth by extending big man Raymond Almazan's tenure with the team. Team manager Paolo Trillo and players agent Danny Espiritu were with the veteran center when he signed the two-year contract.
Now 36, Almazan remains a vital cog in the Bolts’ frontcourt rotation along with fellow veterans Cliff Hodge and Kyle Pascual, Toto Jose, and young gun Brandon Bates.
The former Letran big man averaged 6.4 points and 5.1 rebounds for Meralco in Season 49 of the PBA.
Almazan will be entering his seventh season with the franchise which he helped win its first-ever league championship during the 2024 Philippine Cup.
The former NCAA MVP and Defensive Player of the Year was acquired by Meralco in a 2019 trade with Rain or Shine for two first-round picks.
