Kurt Reyson Signs With Bolts

Kurt Reyson
Early in December 2024, Meralco officially activated the rookie guard Kurt Reyson heading to their match against Blackwater in the PBA Commissioner's Cup, which they lost.

Reyson was taken by the Bolts in the second round of the last rookie draft at No. 23 overall, but didn't play with the team outright to finish his contract obligations in the MPBL where he played for two-time champion Pampanga Giant Lanterns.

After helping lead the Pampanga to their second consecutive MPBL championship, Reyson is now free to take his act to the PBA. His agent, Edgar Mangahas, confirmed that the former Letran Knight has signed with the Meralco Bolts.

Reyson has a guaranteed one-year deal with Meralco. The second year is a team option.

He hailed his incoming teammate Chris Newsome as one of the players whom he will be looking up to.

"Iba yung guard na yun eh. Nakita natin laro niya, competitive siya at two-way guard.

But aside from the 2024 All-Filipino Finals MVP, Reyson is also excited to learn and compete together with his fellow former Knights Bong Quinto and Raymond Almazan.

As for himself, what he will be leaning on when he finally plays for the Bolts is the winning tradition and experience that Letran has given him much like Quinto and Almazan.
