Meralco Bolts Tapped Joshua Davis

Joshua Davis Meralco Bolts
No Michael Dunigan? No problem for the Bolts. In fact, it might be even a blessing in disguise.

After failing to secure the services of the former Air21 Express import after the 25-year old Dunigan signed with the Ginebra Gin Kings, the Merlaco Bolts settled with a much more explosive player in the mold of Joshua Davis.

The 24-year old forward from san Diego State recently played for the Austin Spurs in D-League. In 22 games he averaged 13.8 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.0 blocks per game.

Dubbed by American sportswriters as the 2.0 version of San Antonio forward Kawhi Leonard, the high-leaping Davis was called during the 2013 season by the San Antonio Spurs, but failed to make the cut.

The list of Davis' past achievements include among others his team won MWC Regular Season in 2014. He was also voted All-MWC Newcomer of the Year in 2014 at his college time.

Davis graduated from San Diego State in 2014 and this will be his first season as a professional player.

The scouts decsribe him following way: An aggressive offensive rebounder.

Davis is expected to arrive on 23 January and will join the Bolts’ practice the same day. Meralco is coming off a quarterfinal finish in the recent Philippine Cup won by San Miguel Beer on 21 January at the expense of Alaska Aces in a grueling 7-game series.
