PBA Games in VHF Only

Commissioner Chito Salud
After A few hours before the meeting of Philippine basketball team owners, a source from the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) television partner, revealed that they already reached an agreement with ABS-CBN for the coverage of next conference's games.

It was alleged that Solar COO Peter Chanliong was closing a block-time deal that will paved the way for the airing of the PBA games over at Studio 23. The official announcement was supposed to be made soon after the details of the deal has been finalized and approved by the PBA Board of Governors.

The only hitched is that Studio 23 is a UHF channel. Commissioner Chito Salud official announced that team owners decided to air the games only at a VHF channel. This means they only want major networks to cover the games for the second and third conferences of the PBA.

Were the owners aware of such a deal, which is why they categorically want a CHF medium? Nobody really knows. One thing is clear though: Channel 23 viewers will have to contend with UAAP and NCAA games for now.
