PBA Games Rescheduled

Samahang Basketbol
Changes in schedules in the coming Commissioner’s Cup of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) could mean more matches among the warring teams and limited games in the season-ending Governor’s Cup. This development was reported by Nelson Beltran published in philstar.com on 5 February 2013.

According to Beltran, SMC president Ramon Ang, Alaska chief Wilfred Uytengsu, Globalport boss Mikee Romero and the other PBA team owners have all given their approval for the postponement of the league’s season-ending tourney to give way for two full months of unhampered training by the national team for the coming FIBA Asia Championship.

This news makes sense and it came in the heels of the league board's meeting in Singapore. No formal approval was mentioned, but most probably it will follow this report when the board meets again on Thursday (7 February 2013).

The plan was supposed to support the efforts of the Manny V. Pangilinan-led Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas and the national team while they prepare for the FIBA Asia Conference on 1-11 August 2013.

For fans who have booked their tickets in advance, the changes would mean that the second conference will run until last week of May instead of the original schedule of 28 April 2013, while the third conference will only start after August 2013.
