Allen Durham Bags Best Import Award

PBA's Best Import
Allen Durham took home the Best Import award after leading the Bolts to their first-ever Finals stint.

However, the Bolts lost Game 2 of the best-of-seven series 79-81 and it put a dampener on Durham's individual performance in the league. The hulking import maintained individual awards are not really his thing.

"It's nice to receive an award like that, something I can tell my family about back home, but I'd rather have the championship," said Durham.

"It was kind of nice to receive an award like that but I'm just kind of disappointed about the game obviously but we'll bounce back on Wednesday," he added.

Durham was an unstoppable force in his second tour of duty in the PBA. He averaged 29.4 points, 15.2 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.4 blocks per game at the end of the semifinal round.

The 28-year-old Durham became the second straight import from Meralco to win the plum after Arinze Onuaku last conference.

In Game 1 of the Finals on Friday, Durham spearheaded Meralco’s comeback win in overtime with 46 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists, two blocks. He beat Barangay Ginebra’s Justin Brownlee for the award.
