Barako Bull withstood a 40-point explosion from Gary David to keep Meralco winless, 108-106, in the 2016 Smart Bro PBA Philippine Cup last 15 November 2015 at Philsports Arena in Pasig.

Josh Urbiztondo scored 24 points and had three steals to help the Energy win their second game in four outings.

Veteran guard Gary David scored 40 points on 14-of-21 shooting from the field but his impressive shooting performance wasn’t enough as the Bolts remained as the only team yet to win after dropping to 0-4.

RR Garcia and Willy Wilson also came up big for Barako Bull with 18 and 17 points, respectively.

Energetic forward Cliff Hodge missed Sunday’s matchup after he sprained his right wrist during Friday’s practice.

"It’s not getting any easier," Coach Norman Black told INQUIRER.net.

The third-year forward has been ghe shining light for the Bolts in the 2016 Smart Bro PBA Philippine Cup, averaging 13.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.0 blocks in three games.

His absence was a big blow for Meralco, which is hoping to snap its losing skid.
