Is Mahindra Looking for Cheap Labor?

Alex Nuyles
Everyone thought that Mahindra Enforcers was serious in its PBA title bid when it acquired KG Canaleta, Rob Reyes and Aldech Ramos in exchange for the number 2 draft pick, Troy Rosario. It was too good not to suspect anything, but eventually everyone knows that its a farce.

Without looking for anything in exchange, which they could have really, Mahindra drops Reyes. The 6-foot-6 center was later acquired by NLEX Road Warriors.

The dumb move was later followed by another head-scratcher when the team of Manny Pacquiao released their last season's top performers: Alex Nuyles, Hans Thiele, Jason Deutchman and Leo Avenido. No compensation or proposals from other teams were pursued. The four veterans were just dropped to the free-agency pool where everyone can grab them free-of-charge.

What is Mahindra thinking? Are they trying to cut costs by employing a team mostly composed of new players contented to receive the league's minimum pay and the overeager Manny Pacquiao? Are they in dire financial trouble?

The allegations had some solid basis after a couple of cryptic messages were left by former Mahindra players, Nuyles and former Mahindra player Michael Burtscher.

Nuyles aired his dismay on social media, revealing that he signed a new contract with the Enforcers on short notice only to find out later that it was invalid. he also posted a photo of him wearing his former Rain or Shine jersey.
"I guess no more PBA games for me this year? Tsk tsk tsk...Missing my old team. :("
Burtscher, on the other hand, posted a very emotional and insult-ridden invective aimed at his former emploters:
"The whoooole world is f*cking with me! GOT INJURED IN PARCATICE since may and been waiting for an operation since then which is 4 MONTHS AGO!!! Havent been paid and CANT PAY MY BILLS FOR MONTHS ALREADY BECAUSE I DONT GET PAID despite HAVING A CONTRACT TILL NEXT YEAR!! CANT PUT MY SON TO SCHOOL BECAUSE I DONT GET PAID,and even the basic needs become a f*cking struggle!!! Negotiating for a buyout WHICH IS GOING NOWHERE!!! And at the same time RAISING MY SON BY MYSELF and having a legal war with my sons mom WHO DOESNT F*CKING KNOW WHATS BEST FOR HIM and making up all kinds of stories for WHAT?!?!?! EVEN SHE DOESNT KNOW HOW MUCH SHE AFFECTS HIM!!!!!! AND ON TOP OF THAT THEY KICK ME OUT OF THE APARTMENT 1st week of next month and just PUT ME AND MY 7 YEAR OLD SON ON THE F*CKING STREET!!!
WHAT THE F*CK AM I SUPPOSED TO DO,...f*cking homeschool him on the street and keep on borrowing money from other people eventho I HAVE A F*CKIN CONTRACT TILL 2016?!?! WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUCK IS THAT!!!! I AM A F*CKING PROFESSIONAL ATHLETE AND THIS IS WHAT I GET?!?!?!!!!!
HOW THE F*CK DO PEOPLE THINK?? THIS IS BEYOND TOLERABLE!!!!!!! WHAT THE F*CK DID I DO TO GET A F*CKING TREATMENT LIKE THIS,I GOT A F*CKING SON TO RAISE,FEED AND TO PUT TO SCHOOL WHICH I CANT RIGHT NOW!!"
If Mahindra is facing some financial problems, they should just sell their PBA franchise to a credible company, like Tanduay or Phoenix Petroleum.
