Kings' Tungalag Gains Trending Sympathy

Sanchir Tungalag Benched
Unless they address the concern soon, the Barangay Ginebra management may have to confront more angry rants from their very own fans who cannot understand why is the coaching staff benched their Asian import Sanchir Tungalag for the whole game against Talk 'N Text last 10 May 2015.

The Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters made a tough defensive stand and some crucial shots in the fourth as the Commissioner’s Cup champions survived a 46-point encore from Barangay Ginebra import Orlando Johnson to open their quest for another title with a victory over the Kings, 95-91.

However, the biggest story is everyone is at a loss why the Mongolian star was not tapped to play when it was obvious that the team could have used his talents in the crucial stretches. Coach Flankie Lim, instead, relied on the misfiring and error-prone veterans to call the shots with Johnson.

Tungalag debuted with eight points in 13 minutes in his debut against Alaska, but he only shot 1-of-6 attempts from the field and committed three turnovers. Many are trying to surmise that maybe this is the reason why he did not play against the Tropang Texters.

Nobody from the staff can give a concrete answer and Lim’s refusal to talk to reporters as he left the Araneta Coliseum to explain his decision only adds to the confusion, anger and sympathy to Tungalag.

Mongolian interpreter Bold also declined to give an interview after the game, saying that the comments might be perceived in a negative light. The only thing that he can confirm is that the wingman is perfectly healthy and not suffering from any injuries.

Local basketball fans turned to twitter to express their sympathy for Tungalag, making "Sanchir" a trending topic after the game.
